The diaries and African adventures, shared ideas, and jungle hospital accounts of the German-French physician, theologian and philosopher Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) that led to personal freedoms in Lambarene in French Equatorial Africa. Schweitzer won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952. A touch of rubbing at the spine edges, else very nearly fine in rich brick-orange linen with deep-blue titles to the front cover and to the spine; in a near fine dust jacket with a hint of shelf-edge rubbing and very light fading to the spine panel; original printed $4.00 price still intact to the front inner flap.
