Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. There was a time when encyclopedias were the main source of factual information for students. This set of sources materials was produced by the Compton Encyclopedia Company, specifically for the middle school classroom. The set includes a booklet of objectives and approaches, as well as 12 full-color plates with explanatory information printed on the reverse, detailing the illustrations shown on the front. From maps to peasants at work and play to feudal customs, castle designs, and life in those castles, this is a fascinating look at education, circa 1930. All materials are contained a blue cardboard envelop which bears the remnants of a library sticker on the front cover.
