"Birds Of Prey" features the "Owl" as his protagonist + Sidney Drew (Pseud of J Edgar Murray) with a serial from No 2 to No 26 A futuristic fantastical story "Beyond The Eternal Ice, A Race To the North Pole" for a 1 million pound wager. (Hidden races and lands). + Short stories, articles on making Fireworks, Schoolboy capers stories, other crime and adventure material by writers such as; Henry St John and Capt Lefevre (both the pseudonym of Henry St John Cooper), Allan Blair, Kit Carson Jnr, W. Murray Graydon, etc, articles on cycling and cycling fiction, Football club articles, making toys and objects, Editors den, historical fiction and small illustrated adverts usually on final two full pages, etc, etc. Each 16 pages except for last part with a colour Xmas cover of 30 pages. Some wear to first copy with cover detached and loss near spine, several others with some edge wear and splits and last copy cover detached. The paper is age toned but not brittle, the condition for ephemeral nature is overall excellent VG mostly with woodcut drawings throughout with either one or more per page. Each magazine is uniform in size and each measures larger in height than a daily tabloid. **The two main serialised stories are not available in any other format but both are major contributions in their respective fields with the Nelson Lee detective only being introduced by this writer in 1894 and continued after 1915 by many other writers inc Edwy Searles. This story does not appear as a hardback or in any other magazine. The story of the race to the North Pole by Sidney Drew has lost races and hidden lands, a flying vessel owned by the Americans and in a race against the British in their super-sub. Not found in Bleiler or any hardback format. We can send scans of other pages, send details of all other stories and contributors if requested. No time wasters please! Serious enquiries taken seriously. Other small runs and individual copies to 1905 of this magazine will also be listed soon. (26 copies sold as one lot).
