The bindings gives an example of the cloth edition, and within the cover is a leather spine label of the "Deluxe" edition. A flyleaf proclaims, "Magnificent Premium with…Every Book". The first approx. 70 leaves give examples of what will be in the book. At the rear is a broadside, subscriber's list (of which this seller did not achieve any entries). This is an affordable example of this style of prospectus, a similar format of salesman's prospectus for Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn is fetching nearly $10k. Physical Attributes - Measures approx. 20 x 13.5 x 1 cm. Cloth hardcover publisher's binding. Page edges marbled. Decorative endpapers. Approx. 100 exemplary leaves. Broadside and subscriber's list at the rear. Condition - See pictures. Some vintage patina with shelf and edge wear and an occasional rub. Just the slightest out-of-square. Leather strip on pastedown. Several small pencil bookseller marks on sales flyleaf. Some toning to pages, typical of 19th century paper. Photographs (illustrator).
