Deuxième évêque de Québec, Mgr de Saint-Vallier a mené les affaires de l'Église de façon très autoritaire et n'avait pas de compassion pour les faiblesses de son troupeau. Son style lui a amené plus d'opposants que d'amis mais son acharnement à la tâche en a fait tout de même un rempart de l'Église catholique dans le Nouveau-Monde. L'ouvrage présenté ici est divisé en deux parties: La première va de 1685 jusqu'à la conquête et la seconde de 1760 à 1882. Étude intéressante pour l'histoire de l'institution, mais aussi et surtout pour les informations qu'elle nous livre sur la petite histoire de cette période. Bien complet des deux planches prévues à cet ouvrage et en excellent état. Rel. dos de cuir à coins très lég. frottée.
