Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. First edition, very good in a very good dust jacket. Green cloth with silver lettering. The edges of the boards are a little worn and soiled; very slight flare to boards. The jacket (which has the $2.00 price on front flap) has some chips at edges and a few small holes scattered around. Set in Arkansas after the Civil War, this is the story of real people and the trials they underwent. Includes a couple of photographs; 110 pages. Owner name at top of front endpaper with "Xmas present from/the author & wife/Ruff Haydn/Daisy E. Haydon/1947" written below.

Jacket is chipped along edges with small loss at top & base of spine; overall light soiling. Previous owners name and address inside front cover. Pages 29-32 have a small coffee (?) stain, otherwise text appears unmarked. Dust jacket now protected in mylar sleeve. A SCARCE title.
