Book Club Associates, London The History of the First World War was originally published in 1934 and was then reissued in an extensively expanded edition in 1970. He was constantly in demand for his journalism which delayed work on his magnum opus however the book benefited from intelligence he was able to collect from captured high ranking axis commanders. Liddle Hart's histories of the two world wars have never been superceded and many authors defer to his works when compiling their own histories. This copy bears a handsome bookplate to the front paste down, there is some typical age toning to the page edges but this does not affect the text. The unclipped dustwrapper is lightly sunned to the spine, it has now been covered in clear, removable, Brodart, protective film. Ref D 2.…
