Hardcover. Condition: Good. 2nd Edition. Second edition. 8vo. Frontispiece photograph of the author and title page illustration. 313 pp. + [3] pp. Index. Illustrated throughout by C. T. Astley-Maberly; map endpapers. Original gilt illustrated green cloth binding. The spine is dulled with wear at the extremities and at the bumped tips; some small areas of discoloration front cover with two tiny cloth through-abrasions. Several dark speck on the fore edge. Contents bright and unmarked. A very early edition of this classic which is good.

Condition: Good. 1950. 3rd Edition. 313 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over green cloth with decorations. Black and white illustrations throughout with photographic frontispiece. Pages and illustrations are lightly tanned throughout. Binding remains firm. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Unclipped jacket has heavy edgewear with areas of loss, heavy tears, chips, and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges.
