Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

Undated but thought to be the first edition, published by Raphael Tuck and Sons Ltd in 1948.Charming picture book, written and illustrated by music hall and radio star Harry Hemsley using his child characters from the Ovaltiney's Concert Party, which ran on Radio Luxembourg during the 1930s. This title is of particular interest for its setting of the BBC of the time, inclusion of a scene set during a recording of The Brains Trust, and various period details. In unusually good condition, with very little wear and only minimal foxing on covers. Currently protected wit.
