The 95 illustrations inthis book (including 47 full-color plates) capture Pozzatti's bountiful creativityin etchings, engravings, lithographs, and collages produced over the course of hiscareer. An essay by Norman A. Geske defines Pozzatti's place in the renaissance inAmerican printmaking that was sparked by Mauricio Lazansky and his students at theUniversity of Iowa in the 1940s and 1950s. Pozzatti's personal insights andanecdotes about many of the prints enliven the extensive catalogue entries, which, along with an inclusive bibliography and a compendium of the artist's exhibitionsand chronology, make this book an indispensable resource on the artist and hiswork.
