DJ has wear to upper edges & corners, tape repairs to upper rear panel near fold, 2 light stains at bottom of rear panel, surface wear to rear panel, 1 closed tear on rear panel. Black and white illustrations, 1 map. Includes footnotes, appendix (members of the Duvall party), bibliography and index. The Texas Argonauts left their home state in January, 1849 (one of the first parties to reach the gold fields from Texas) and arrived in the following September. Part of their journey was spent in northern Mexico (from ElPaso to near Tucson. Important memoir by Harris, which apparently was never published in his lifetime. He died in 1897. #31 in the American Exploration and Travel Series.
