    Cloth. Condition: Good. A very scarce copy of this collection of poetry from Samuel and Harriette Phelps. Very scarce work. A religious verse in two parts, the first being The History of a Penitent Sinner, and the second being A Description of the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ on Earth, by a Converted Israelite. Written by Samuel Merrick Phelps, an American writer and poet. To which is added Promiscuous Pieces by his daughter Harriette Emma Phelps, an American poet. Previously held in the libraries of Rev. Samuel Weed Barnum, an American minister and author, and Samuel Rossiter Betts, an American attorney, politician, and jurist who served as a United States representative and a United States district judge for the Southern District of New York. Bound in quarter cloth with marbled boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with light sunning to the boards. Splits in the cloth to the spine resulting in light loss. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with scattered spotting and minor age toning to the extremities.
