Rex Dixon was a pseudonym of the British writer of children's stories, Reginald Alec Martin. This book is the ninth in a series of twenty-three stories featuring the young cowboy Pocomoto. The book is bound in the original red boards with black titling and a small illustration on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with some foxing on the fore edge of the text block. On a few pages the foxing has seeped a little way into the fore margin. There is an inscription dated 1958 on the front fixed endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper (illustrated by 'Harman' has some shelf wear with light soiling and the corners and spine ends are bumped and nicked. There is a tear of about 1" on the top rear spine corner and another of about 1/2" near the top rear corner and a crease between the two tears. These tears and a few other tears on the edges of up to about 3/8" together with a tear of about 1 1/2" on the bottom front corner have been repaired on the reverse with document repair tape.
