Boards scuffed and stained, spine faded and library sticker, small tear at top of spine, board and spine edges worn. This volume contains reprints of three articles that originally appeared in medical journals, along with letters relating to the ideas propounded therein. The author contended, based on 22 years of observation, that yellow fever had a naval origin, originating in foul ships. Hargis' remedy is an unlimited supply of wholesome air and fumigation with nitrous acid. While ultimately proven erroneous, this item is important both as a statement of one school of thought, and as an example of medical research and analysis techniques of the 19th century.…
