Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good binding. Octavo. xix, [1], 181, [1] pp., frontis, plates. First edition. In publisher's cloth. A bright copy with only trivial wear to the extremities; previous owner name on the front free endpaper, otherwise contents are clean. This is Number 4 in the South Caroliniana Sesquicentennial Series issued by the University of South Carolina. The book contains letters from Wade Hampton I from 1782-1834; Wade Hampton II and III from 1836-1860; Wade Hampton III during the Civil War and a separate chapter for 1866-1901. There is an appendix with some genealogical notes for the family. Uncommon.
