Gefascineerd door olieverf en doek, onderzoekt hij al tientallen jaren de creatie van beelden met de bedoeling dieper door te dringen in de werkelijkheid rondom ons. De traditie van de schilderkunst biedt hem een adequaat antwoord op de complexiteit waarmee de wereld vandaag wordt geconfronteerd. Deze kunstenaar synthetiseert stijlen. Hij heeft een grammatica van de schilderkunst ontwikkeld met enkele elementen uit het surrealisme, popart en hyperrealisme, maar dit impliceert geen gemakkelijke categorisering. Bovendien kan hij zowel onder de abstracte schilders als onder de realisten worden geschaard. Delen van zijn schilderijen zijn minutieus weergegeven, met een unieke virtuositeit en een nauwgezette gedetailleerdheid, terwijl andere delen op een meer abstracte manier zijn geschilderd. De kunstenaar voorziet de beelden die hij ontleent aan de werkelijkheid van een eigen stempel. Hij geeft zijn realisme vorm door een onderscheidende keuze van beeld, compositie, kadrering, vorm en kleur. Zijn figuratieve tableaus zijn zowel gebaseerd op foto's die hij zelf maakte tijdens zijn intercontinentale reizen als op bestaande foto's die hij vervormt en interpreteert. 1310 g.
