This book grew out of an exhibition at the local historical museum and is based on vintage photos in their collection. "Countless hours were spent" researching the photos for this book, and the narrative and captions document the city's growth. Located on Thunder Bay on Lake Huron, the city was first surveyed in 1839 and became a lumbering center in its early years. The first photos date to the 1860's. Original publisher's blue cloth covers with gilt spine and cover lettering. This may not have been issued with a dust jacket. There is a short two line owner gift inscription on the upper edge of the front end paper and one small stain on the lower edge of the last page, else This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates.
