Each bird is described with its English & Latin names, size in inches, coloration, & nicknamesFirst sold solely through the Chicago Academy of Sciences. This is the Revised Edition, apparently from 1902, which includes "several pages of new matter,'' a newly rearranged list of birds, updated "Hints," & a fold-out "Migration Record" attached in rear, where the avid ornithologist can record sighting details. This has been partially filled out by the former owner, whose name appears at top right of chart, as well as in pen inside book's front cover. This foldout is rarely found! Small book (approximately 5.5" x 4") in tan-gray wrappers, stapled binding, in 45 pages. Condition is solidly Good, with light soil. The covers have become loose from the staples, but the text block is solidly together. Staples show rust. Very modes edgewear & rubbing. The subject matter has been carefully rewritten and the order of the birds rearranged in accordance with data covering observations during the last seven years, as well as the charts which show the relative abundance of the birds and the height of the migration in Lincoln Park.
