Typescript heavily corrected and with taped and pastedown additions. Divided into sections from A to Z with a description for each entry. Three typed signed letters (one signed on his behalf) all one page in length from John Hale at Robert Hale Ltd., Clerkenwell House 45-47 Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R 0HT to Peter Haining, Peyton House, ButcherÕs Lane, Boxford, Suffolk dated 18 October 1979, 9 June 1980 and 10 July 1980 in which terms are discussed for the publication of A Dictionary of Ghosts. Three photocopies of HainingÕs letters to John Hale all one page in length dated October 15 (accompanying his samples and list of captions for illustrations), November 2 1979 and July 15 1980. He says it will have worldwide coverage, discusses terms, illustrations and length and other matters. Peter Haining (1940-2007) was a prolific writer and editor on subjects ranging from crime and horror to witchcraft and fantasy. He became Editorial Director of the New English Library publishing house. Some taped pieces in section B have become separated but still in order. Very good. Very good.
