Spine and edges of boards have darkened noticeably. Paper along edges of spine has chipped in places. Gutters have cracked slightly, showing as well on the exterior… close to head of spine, exposing the webbing beneath. Corners are bumped; edges and corners are worn. Pages are toned. Original price is written in pencil on the front free endpaper. Bits of newspaper are affixed to back free endpaper, at corners. Illustrated with small black-and-white drawings throughout. Signed by Gwendolen Haste, one of the poets anthologized herein, on the front free endpaper, in green ink; signature is dated June 1923. Anthology of the best poetry of 1922. Signed by Author(s).

Original woodcut, printed on laid paper. Quarto. §Signed in pencil by the artist to lower right corner below the British Hand Made watermark. Woodblock im…age measures 27.5 x 15.8cm, exactly as Ashmolean copy; paper measures 29.8 x 19cm (very slightly smaller than same). Lower edge untrimmed. Brown mark towards upper right hand corner which has a small crease; trifling further mark to upper left of halo. In generally very good condition, suitable for framing. Travels preserved in a loose archival plastic sleeve, sent flat in sturdy cardboard. §Hagreen's woodcuts were printed in tiny numbers (twenty or less), post 1922 - in addition he had ceased to sign his work; hence this example is particularly uncommon.
