Good+ condition. Original paper wrappers with moderate wear consistent with age, including small chips and nicks along the edges and extremities, softened corners, and general toning to the covers. The wrappers remain intact and stable, with no major tears or losses. Internally complete and clean. The original Seventeenth International Congress of Orientalists organizational insert is present and intact, as issued. Printed at Oxford in August 1928 for distribution to delegates of the Congress of Orientalists. A scarce piece of academic congress ephemera, not issued commercially, documenting Oxford's institutional role in early twentieth-century Oriental studies. With the original insert listing patrons, officers, and organizing committees of the Congress, including the Earl of Birkenhead, Lord Chalmers, and senior Oxford scholars. Uncommon in the trade and infrequently encountered complete.
