The magazine was first published in June 1971 with the name Air Enthusiast. In January 1974 its title was changed to Air Enthusiast International and finally to Air International in July 1974. Contents of this issue includes a section (pages 306-307) on International Service Markings [the first installment of a series of color plates depicting the national insignia of all the world's military air arms, in this issue Afghanistan to Haiti. Also included is a description of the Saab-Fairchild 340, a discussion of the Northrop aircraft design philosophy, discussion of business aircraft and a discussion of the Mi-26 Siberian Halo. Also included is a business aircraft director, information for the model enthusiast, and information on fighter aircraft from the Junkers K 47 to Junkers Ju 388.
