Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First edition in half leather with marbled boards and gilt bands and title on spine. 468 pages and one page of errata. Rubbing to boards, scuffing to leather, covers tight and hinges free of cracks. Text block clean and tight, but pages of the preface through page 89 have a crease along the fore edge of about an inch over the length of the page, not interfering with the reading quality. Lacks maps. Overall good.
