London: Edwin Arnold, 1948. xxvii, 727 pp. Later printing of a popular English book on health and diet. This copy is inscribed by Mottram, one of the editors, "To Stef from his friend V.H. Mottram with a suggestion that he look himself up in the index. June, 1948." The index has six references to Stefansson and his writings on the role of diet in Arctic exploration. This was a theme of considerable importance to the great explorer - particularly survival without carbohydrates. Bound in blue cloth, lightly sunned, but very good condition.
