Her juvenile novels contain authentic historical background and several others were also illustrated by Loren Barton. Dawson also published a juvenile history entitled CALIFORNIA: THE STORY OF OUR SOUTHWEST CORNER (1939). Loren Roberta Barton [1893-1975] was an American painter, water colorist and illustrator.
