Having failed to meet him that day, he is availing himself of the recipient's 'kind offer to Mrs M. OF.' He draws a diagram of 'a figure mounted on a cross' which he wishes Nugent to get for him: 'The figure is a new composition perfect imitation of Ivory and was made at Brussels. The cross should be made of black wood to stand on the pedestal as represented on the other side.' Mrs O'Ferrall will leave the figure for him at the British Hotel, Jermyn Street, 'where it may be sent for by the man you employ'. He is sure the task 'could not be in better hands [.] for getting it well done', and concludes: 'If you come to Ireland during winter mind to come and see me'.…
