CONTE…NTS DESCRIPTION: Graff 1603: "Goulder ascended the Missouri with Benton and Robidoux in 1844. His later adventures are rather interesting." This valuable narrative startsin 1844. The group reached Boise Valley in 1845 and here his party was unfortunately induced to the "Meek Cutoff" to the Dalles, due to which, it was only after enduring the greatest of provocation and suffering, and passing through untold hardships, that they finally reached Oregon. His memoirs of the early days in Vancouver, Oregon City, Salem, at the mines and among the pioneers is to pass a very high compliment, quite as interesting as it is important.
