Vor allem aber die herrlichen Bauwerke von Antike, Renaissance und Barock, denen er ausgewogene Proportionen, den Sinn für Symmetrie und eine Fülle von Ornamenten verdankt. Familientraditionen und Erbstücke werden in Italien in Ehren gehalten. Alte Gehöfte und vornehme Landsitze hat man liebevoll renoviert, und so bewahren die schlicht und zweckmäßig eingerichteten Räume der Bauernhäuser bis heute ihren rustikalen Charme, während sich die geräumigen hohen Zimmer und Salons der Landhäuser und Villen nobel elegant bis prachtvoll präsentieren.
