Stapled wraps. Condition: Very Good+. Trade Edition. This is a small format booklet with cardstock covers and stapled spine. The booklet is in Very Good+ condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The booklet covers have some light toning to the edges. The text pages are clean and bright. "The Third General Assembly of the Church of the Nazarene held in Nashville, Tennessee in 1911 recommended that the infant denomination's three publishing companies (then located in Rhode Island, Texas, and Los Angeles, California) each founded by a different Nazarene parent body, consolidate into "one central publishing company" and merge their three papers into one strong paper. The newly created Pentecostal Nazarene Publishing House was sited at 2923 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1912, with Clarence J. Kinne, a Nazarene ordained minister, as its first manager. The Herald of Holiness, the new weekly paper, edited by B. F. Haynes, appeared for the first time in April 1912. The Other Sheep (later World Mission) magazine began publication in 1913 under founding editor Charles Allen McConnell (born 19 June 1860 in Valparaiso, Indiana; died c.1950) , who was NPH manager from 1916 to 1918. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st. Centennial Edition. 2 volume set. volume 1 is 684 pages. volume 2 is 665 pages plus index. gold gilt letters and stamp on front cover. Virginia Theological Seminary , also known as the Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary in Virginia, is the largest accredited Episcopal seminary in the United States. Founded in 1818, VTS is situated on an 80-acre campus in Alexandria, Virginia. A small group of dedicated men committed themselves to the task of recruiting and training a new generation of church leaders following the Revolutionary War. Francis Scott Key was one of this group which, in 1818, formed "An Education Society" and five years later opened the "School of Prophets," to become the Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary in Virginia. When the school opened in Alexandria with two instructors, 14 students were enrolled. During the Civil War, the school was occupied by troops; after the war, two professors and 11 veterans reopened the seminary on a campus that had been used to house 1,700 wounded Federal troops and to bury 500 soldiers. On June 3, 1953, Virginia Seminary merged with the Bishop Payne Divinity School, a distinguished African-American institution started by Virginia Seminary in 1878.
