Decorative Cloth. Condition: Good+. No Jacket. First Edition. Publisher's blue pictorial cloth gilt, slty rubbed at lower edge. short tear at top rear of spine. Slty shaken in case. Contemporary inscription from Admiral G.Noel to his wife on end paper.Collates thus: xi, [i],[1], 2-369, [1], [3], 4-48pp.( ads), dated March 1876. Frontis portrait, large folding map of Rewa River, 2 folding maps in rear pocket, 18 illus. in text. This is the scarcer first edition, first impression. Goodenough died from blood poisoning caused by a native attack at Santa Cruz.
