Ex colección Sameer Makarius (1924-2009). Giacomo Brogi (1822-1881) comenzó a los 11 años a trabajar para la editorial Batelli y asistió a la escuela de grabado de Perfetti. Más tarde pasó a trabajar con el calcógrafo Achille París como retocador. Comenzó su carrera como fotógrafo alrededor de 1856 y fundó su propia compañía alrededor de 1864 : Edizioni Brogi Firenze , especializándose en retratos y más tarde en fotografías de obras de arte, en particular en la reproducción de esculturas y panoramas.
