Paper. Condition: Good. First Edition. An Original handwritten letter slip by German Artist Gerard Hoffnung. Dated 1956. A letter slip "for Yvonne Arnaud with ever increasing admiration from Gerard Hoffnung". Gerard Hoffnung (22 March 1925[1] - 28 September 1959) was an artist and musician, best known for his humorous works. Raised in Germany, Hoffnung was brought to London as a boy to escape the war. Over the next two decades in England, he became known as a cartoonist, tuba player, impresario, broadcaster and raconteur. Germaine Yvonne Arnaud ( 1890 - 1958) was a French-born pianist, singer and actress, who was well known for her career in Britain, as well as her native land Size is 100mm x 66mm. Condition is good.Gum residue to the rear. Ref19257. Signed by Author(s).
