Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Very rare, first edition. Only 2 editions found in 18 libraries on OCLC# 1287027902. Gerald B. Winrod, was an American fundamentalist evangelist, author, and controversial publisher involved in political activism during WWII. While opinions differ as to his character, Winrod was accused of anti semitic and neo-Nazi views. He was indicted by the federal government for sedition in the Great Sedition trial of 1942-1944, in which the charges for his case were later dismissed after a sudden heart attack and death of the presiding judge caused a subsequent mistrial.Portals to Armageddon is a minor work in Winrod?s output but representative of his post-WWII writings. Like much of his material from the 1940s and 1950s, it reflects his long-held belief that the world was rapidly heading toward the end-times climax. It was sold through his Defender magazine and ministry channels. In it, he promotes the idea that certain political and spiritual developments are ?portals? or gateways leading toward the final battle of Armageddon; he gives strong warnings about moral decline, apostasy in the church, and global forces aligning against God?s plan; and emphasizes the prophetic role of Israel and the importance of watching for Christ?s return.Paperback. Light blue covers with black lettering. 29 pp. Small amount of marginalia on flyleaf. No marginalia in the text. Covers have some wear. Edges of covers are sunned. Overall a nice, rare, first edition copy. Full refund if not satisfied.…
