Original Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Knight, David (illustrator). First Edition. Ex-library copy of the first UK edition, translated by Nigel Ryan. The boards have small tape marks at the top and bottom of the front panel, slight fading to the edges and slight bumping to the corners. There is a spine lean. Page edges are browned. The endpapers are browned with heavy vertical tape marks to the front pastedown and front free endpaper. The front endpapers have also been reinforced along the hinge with white tape. Library stamps to the copyright page and a small circular library stamp to the last page of the text. Pages are browned with staining in a number of places through the book. Price clipped jacket has a tape mark along the right edge of the front inside flap, chipping to the bottom corners, some edge wear and fading to the rear panel. It has also had a thin piece snipped from the top of the front flap and has been blind stamped on the front panel by the Library. Cover design by David Knight. First printing.
