D'abord les photos sont toutes en noir et blanc: la magie de la forêt et de ses hôtes n'est-elle pas mieux traduite par les dégradés des noirs et des gris ? Je crois qu'ils restituent mieux la lumière pure : ils ne jouent que sur des "valeurs…", sans distractions. le noir et blanc épure sans concessions. Il est plus "aristocratique", comme l'a écrit Roland de Chaudenay. Ensuite, cet ouvrage n'a aucune vocation scientifique ou cynégétique. S'il est parfois didactique C'est uniquement pour définir certains mots. Il ne veut que transmettre à son lecteur, par l'imaqe plus que par les textes, les joies, les impressions d'un amoureux de la forêt. Il voudrait le faire participer à ses promenades matinales et lui faire découvrir la beauté des animaux dans la quiétude de l'aube.
