George Pearson, who rendered the author's amusing illustrations into wood engravings, was an accomplished engraver and illustrator, much employed in cutting woodblocks for book illustrations, such as Rev. Wood's 'Homes Without Hands', Lady Herbert's 'Search after Sunshine' and Lady Jackson's 'Fair Lusitania'.
