Previous owner's name neatly inked on front paste down. Hint of page toning else internally neat and clean. A little soft. Berta Giessmar (1892-1949) was secretary and business manager to both orchestral conductors Sir Thomas Beecham andWilhelm Furtwangler. She worked for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra until 1935 when, because of her Jewish heritage, she fled Nazi Germany for London.
