Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. BCE. A broad collection of Lardner's plays, essays, and songs which illustrate the range of his humor and satire. Ringgold Wilmer Lardner (1885 - 1933) was an American sports columnist and short story writer best known for his satirical writings on sports, marriage, and the theatre. His contemporaries-Ernest Hemingway, Virginia Woolf, and F. Scott Fitzgerald-all professed strong admiration for his writing, and author John O'Hara directly attributed his understanding of dialogue to him. This book club edition is near fine in blue cloth with silver titles on the spine. Slight scuffing at the corners, but no other marks or damage. The unclipped DJ has several small chips at the edges and sun darkening on the jacket spine, but it's done its job well in protecting the book.
