Ten crime stories, most by members of the Los Angeles chapter of Sisters in Crime, issued by editor Loretta Scott Miller's own press; settings run from Los Angeles freeways and Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel to a Lake District village. Several contributors went on to wider careers: Gay Degani, three-time Pushcart Prize nominee, founder of Flash Fiction Chronicles and author of the novel What Came Before (2016); Gayle Bartos-Pool, a former private investigator who writes as G.B. Pool (Gin Caulfield, Johnny Casino and Chance McCoy series); and Sarah M. Chen, whose noir novella Cleaning Up Finn was an Anthony Award finalist. Chen's early story here is unsigned.
