Presumably a college undergrad at the time (he indicates "Yale University"), the youthful Garrison sends effusive birthday greetings to a friend in his miniscule script. Reads in part: "This little volume is some of the best vacation reading I know of. It would be excellent to use as we used 'Harvard Stories' and 'Dream Life' last Easter, and I intend to introduce it for such use this Christmas.".
