Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Louis Wain (illustrator). 1st Edition. Published by Raphael Tuck. One of Father Tuck's Golden Gift Series. Undated but known to be published in 1916. A First Edition. Size: 26.5 x 20 cms or 10 1/2 x 8 inches. Page number: 49. Hardcover. Coloured picture boards. Red cloth spine. Nursery rhymes and short stories. With two-tone illustrations of cats on every page and a colour frontispiece. Condition: Very Good. The paper on the cover is not absolutely flat. There is some loss to the bottom corner. The back cover is marked; the colour from the red spine has bled onto the cover. Some of the pages within are marked with faint brown stains - this most obviously at the beginning and end; but the main body of the book is clean. Several of the pages are stuck together at the hinge. This means when the book is open they do not lie flat. This is shows in the fifth photograph. I assume this to be in consequence of a previous repairs. There is tidy historic repair to the front hinge and the first end paper has been repaired using clear archival tape.
