Frontispiece portrait of the author with facsimile signature beneath. Erata slip, illustrated with eight plates. 5 X 7.25 inches. Some fading to the cloth at the base of the spine and ajacent corners from damp.The book is lacking the final page 143/144, bearing personal testimony of some patients, and also the rear endpaper. The back strip is stuck down. Internally quite good, with a few passages lined alongside in ink. Some poets names are listed on the blank verso of the frontis, for no apparent reason,and a name is written indistinctly on the front free endpaper. The book is inscribed on the front free endpaper thus: "With the Author's /Compliments/ May 5th /84". Inscribed by the Author. …
