Reid, and Catherine Keener as Harper Lee. It was based on the book ÔCapote: A BiographyÕ by Gerald Clarke. Philip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and the film received Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Directing, Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Catherine Keener), and Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay.
