CONDITION: ANTIQUARIAN FINE & UNREAD The spines are square, hinges and joints firm and pages tight. Many sections of the volumes are VERY tightly bound and remarkably appear unopened. Multiple leaves are not fully cut and joined together in these sections. The gilding appears to be completely intact. The spines are gently sun-lightened. The volumes show only light rubbing to extremities from minimal shelf wear over the past 120+ years. The boards are colorful and clean with sumptuous supple leather. The "Aesthetical and Philosophical Essays Volume I" has a light red mark on its fore-edge and Volume II of this work has more rubbing than the other volumes so could be considered NEAR FINE. All of the volumes' interiors are clean with bright, untoned pages with no writing or foxing or even ghosting from the plates (remarkably rare!).
