(I Will Not Forget…A Cinematic Film About the 10th University Conference in the Prague in the Year 1938) A film program with excellent photomontage. A suggestive film montage of the course of the rally held in Prague from documentary footage by eleven cameramen and compiled by Martin Frič, with commentary and poems by Josef Hora. Produced by Zdeněk Štěpánek, František Smolík and Ladislav Boháč with rally music by J. Kalaš. In July 1938, the 10th All-Sokol Rally was a celebration of 20 years of the Czechoslovak Republic and a national demonstration of strength with a resolute determination to defend the homeland against oncoming fascism. Three months later the Munich Agreement took place and eight months later the occupation of the republic. The film was suppressed in the Protectorate until the end of the war, and after the February communist coup in 1948 it was banned again, when the All-Sokol Festivals were replaced by the Spartakiada. With no institutional holdings found in OCLC. A great document, remarkably well preserved.…
