A memoir of outdoorsman and the 26th President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt (1858 - 1919) recounting ranching days in the Badlands of Dakota Territory in the mid-1880s. Roosevelt withdrew for the next two years to the home ranch which straddled both sides of the twisting Little Missouri and lived in a low house of hewn logs.
