Rocky Mountain Flowers: This book is a comprehensive guidebook that provides detailed information on the various species of flowers found in the Rocky Mountain region of North America. The book features beautiful illustrations of the flowers, along with descriptions of their physical characteristics, habitat, and uses. The author was a renowned botanist and ecologist who spent several years studying the flora of the Rocky Mountains. In this book, he shares his extensive knowledge of the region's plant life with readers who are interested in learning more about the diverse range of flowers that grow in this area. The book is organized by flower family, with each section featuring detailed descriptions of the various species within that family. The illustrations are beautifully rendered, and each flower is depicted in full color, making it easy for readers to identify the plants they encounter in the wild. In addition to providing information on the physical characteristics of the flowers, the book also includes details on their medicinal and culinary uses. This makes it a valuable resource for anyone interested in foraging for wild plants or using them for medicinal purposes. A clean very presentable copy.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Illustrated by Clements, Edith S. (illustrator). (US). 496 pp. 58 plates. Considering its such a heavy book all hinges are sound tight and apart from foxing on e/p's the book is very clean internally. Covers are slightly rubbed on extremities and spine is coloured to match where some scraping has occured. Overall good+ towards very good. 2,909 generic names were included; this volume contains more than 5,000 names. The great number of genera published since the first edition and their inaccessibility to many students made it desirable to bring the treatment up to date. The last issue of Saccardo's Sylloge Fungorum, volume 24, included only genera published previous to 1919 and 1920, while the authors have attempted in addition to account for all genera proposed since that time. This was rendered possible largely by the use of the card index of new genera of fungi that was maintained by the Bureau of Plant Industry, and also by the list of new genera compiled by Plunkett, Young and Ryan. Illustrations are given of the type or other representative species of approximately 700 genera, and these comprise some 1800 figures. Many are original, having been made from typical specimens of the species illustrated. The others have been copied or adapted from standard works, largely from the parts of Engler & Prantl's Pflanzenfamilien that treat of the fungi. The bibliography of the most important literature on systematic mycology is appended, and the glossary has been enlarged and improved.; 002391; 8vo (large, thick).
