Extracts from the Piano/Conductor's score, including many of Chita Rivera's numbers. Rivera (1933-2024) was a legend of the Broadway stage. She created the roles of Anita in West Side Story and Velma in Chicago, and the title role in Kiss of the Spider Woman. She was nominated for ten Tony Awards and won two (both for best actress in a musical). The extracts from the score comprise: "And All That Jazz" (16 pp.), "And All That Jazz (reprise)" (1 p.), "Cell Block Tango" (20 pp.), "I Can't Do It Alone" (16 pp.), "I Can't Do It Alone (tag)" (1 p.), "My Own Best Friend" (12 pp.), "When Velma Takes the Stand" (9 pp.), "Velma Takes the Stand (Exit Music)" (1 p.), "Class" (8 pp.), and "Nowadays" (10 pp.) These copies were likely used for rehearsals. Folio. Seven booklets, six of which wire-stitched, one presented concertina-style in three segments connected by adhesive tape. 94 ozalid pages, together with integral 18 blank pages, copying score prepared by "Chelsea Music Preparation" of 1841 Broadway. Some browning, occasional light soiling, some rust-staining: a very good group.
