Softcover. Condition: g+. First edition. Octavo. 103 (1)pp. B/w cover with photomontage and yellow lettering. Singed and inscribed by the authors "Mit schönsten Grüßen von Schaeffers und Nikolaus VIII. 27", on the title page. Collection of sketches, stage arrangements and letters by two "conferenciers (sociopolitical commentators)" of the 1920s Berlin Cabaret scene. Both know for their appearances in the Kadeko (Kabarett der Komiker), which the Nazi's kept a watchful eye on, eventually moved against to turn it into a venue sympathetic to the Nazi regime. Printed page dedicating the publication to a large number of colleagues, incl. Emil Jannings, Zille, Tucholsky, Ernst Rowohlt, Valesca Gert, Trude Hesterberg, Thomas, Heinrich and Klaus Mann, Max Brod, Fritz Lang, among many others. Striking b/w photomontage on the cover featuring notable imagery and prominent cultural figures from Weimar-era culture (including Bertolt Brecht and Conrad Veidt among others) by Berlin designer Franz A. Flachslander. Text in German. Light wear to wraps and rubbed. Wraps and interior in overall good+ condition. Extremely scarce. Protected by modern mylar.
