First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. pp: 432 [17]. Bound in plain blue printed card covers. The first English language edition. Translated from the Spanish by Brother Robert D. Wood. The Itza were a Maya ethnic group from the Yucatán Peninsula and Petén region who built the famous city of Chichén Itzá. Laid in is a 21" x 16" folded map of Guatamala, circa 1902. It was intended to be affixed to the rear cover. In this case it was left as it. This volume has several black and white plates at the beginning, and several folding maps at the end of the text. A very good copy with some sunning on the spine. The text block is clean and free of extraneous markings.
